Service Description

Oral cancer screening is a critical preventive service, especially for seniors. Early detection dramatically improves treatment outcomes. We perform visual oral cancer screening at every appointment as part of our comprehensive care. What We Screen For: - Unusual lesions or patches in the mouth - Discolored areas on lips, tongue, or gums - Persistent sores that don't heal - Lumps or thickened areas - Difficulty swallowing or speaking Why Regular Screening Matters: Early detection saves lives. Many oral cancers are highly treatable when caught early. No special equipment needed – visual assessment only. Included with every cleaning appointment. Risk Factors: - Age (over 50) - Tobacco use - Alcohol consumption - Sun exposure (lip cancer) - HPV infection After Screening: If anything concerning is found, we provide referrals to dental professionals or medical doctors for further evaluation. Duration: Included in regular appointment (5-10 minutes) Frequency: Every 6 months with regular cleanings
